The biggest difference: melatonin

RYDE: Sleep is built around 5 mg of melatonin, the hormone your body makes to signal night-time. Melatonin is a licensed natural health product in Canada and a common choice for occasional trouble falling asleep.

Inner Peace has no melatonin and no hormones. We left it out on purpose, because many people want something for everyday stress that they can use any time of day, and because questions about long-term melatonin use are still being studied. Our guide to melatonin alternatives covers the research.

Different jobs, different timing

  • RYDE: Sleep is meant for the 30–60 minutes before bed on nights when you want help falling asleep, and its label describes it as for occasional, short-term use.
  • Inner Peace is a daily ritual for stress and mental fatigue. Many people have it in the afternoon when the day gets loud; others make it part of an evening wind-down.

Dose check: amount per serving vs. amounts studied

A dose that's on the label isn't the same as a dose that's been studied. This table puts each medicinal ingredient next to the amount used in published research or set by Health Canada. Studies often used different extracts and measured different outcomes, so treat it as a guide, not a scorecard.

Vitalë Inner Peace™: five actives (per stick pack)

Ingredient Per serving Amount studied
Ashwagandha root extract (10:1) 300 mg (DHE 3,000 mg) 300–600 mg extract a day for stress (Chandrasekhar et al., 2012; Akhgarjand et al., 2022)
L-theanine 200 mg 200 mg a day for stress-related symptoms (Hidese et al., 2019)
GABA 100 mg 50 mg in a drink for mental fatigue and stress markers (Kanehira et al., 2011)
Lemon balm leaf extract (3:1) 100 mg (DHE 300 mg) 300–600 mg extract as a single dose for calmness (Kennedy et al., 2004)
Chamomile flower extract (1.5:1) 100 mg (DHE 150 mg) 400 mg a day for 28 days (Adib-Hajbaghery & Mousavi, 2017)

DHE = dried herb equivalent, the amount of whole dried herb the extract was made from.

Vitalë Inner Peace™: five functional ingredients

  • Glycine: an amino acid the body also uses as a calming signal in the brain and spinal cord.
  • Phosphatidylserine (from phosphatidylserine-enriched soy lecithin): a phospholipid concentrated in brain cell membranes, studied for the cortisol response to stress.
  • Fibersol-2: a soluble fibre that dissolves clear, studied for regularity.
  • Malic acid: the fruit acid in apples; inside cells it becomes malate, part of the cycle that turns food into usable energy.
  • Electrolytes (sodium citrate, sodium chloride): sodium helps your body hold on to the fluid you drink.

RYDE: Sleep (per 60 mL shot)

Ingredient Per serving Amount studied or set
Melatonin 5 mg 0.1–10 mg a day for adults, per Health Canada's melatonin monograph (Health Canada, 2025)
GABA 135 mg 300 mg a day for 4 weeks in adults with insomnia symptoms (Byun et al., 2018)
L-tryptophan 50 mg A review found the clearest sleep effect at 1 g (1,000 mg) a day or more (Sutanto et al., 2022)
Vitamin B6 1.7 mg Adult daily requirement: 1.3–1.7 mg (NIH Office of Dietary Supplements)
Vitamin B2 (riboflavin) 0.98 mg Adult daily requirement: 1.1–1.3 mg (NIH Office of Dietary Supplements)

RYDE: Sleep also lists chamomile, lemon balm and ginseng as non-medicinal ingredients; the amounts aren't published.

Study results describe each ingredient at the dose studied, not either finished product. For every Inner Peace study and its limits, see our ingredient research library.

  • You might look at RYDE: Sleep if you want a melatonin product for an occasional night when falling asleep is the problem, and you've checked with a pharmacist that melatonin suits you.
  • You might look at Inner Peace if everyday stress and mental fatigue are the problem, you'd rather avoid melatonin and hormones, and you want something you can make a daily habit.

Frequently asked questions

Does Inner Peace contain melatonin?

No. Inner Peace contains no melatonin and no hormones.

Can Inner Peace fit into an evening routine?

Yes. Many people make it part of their wind-down. Its ingredients have been studied for sleep as well as stress: a review of five trials found that ashwagandha extract taken daily improved overall sleep, most clearly at 600 mg a day or more for 8 weeks or longer (Cheah et al., 2021). If trouble sleeping lasts more than a few weeks, talk to a doctor.

Can I drink Inner Peace during the day?

Yes. It's designed as a once-daily drink for whenever stress builds. Drowsiness may occur, so use caution when driving.
